Life Purpose: Inspire the Masses, Successful Public Impact
in the Healing Arts
Life Lesson: Mr. Not Enough
School: Service
Formula: Who am I to Inspire the Masses? Who am I not to?
Introduction
Have you seen the TV commercial in which an upscale
couple is shown touring the Great Wall of China? Smiling at each
other in smug satisfaction, they cross another item off their
Top-Ten-Things-To-Do-In-This-Lifetime Checklist. That's how I
must have looked in the summer of 2000 when, like kids trading
baseball cards, I got JFK's fingerprints from Andre Washington
and he got Albert Einstein's from me. The Freedom of Information
Act requires dead presidents' fingerprints be public record but
for the life of me I could not work my way through the paperwork
maze. Andres' superior bureaucratic skills paid off handsomely
and poof, there before my very eyes, JFK's prints appeared on
my computer screen.
John was not the original choice of his dad to
occupy the White House. Joe Jr., his older brother killed in action
during World War II, was the chosen one until fate stepped in.
Was President Kennedy actually living his life dream or was he
flogging himself daily trying to live up to some impossible standard?
And what about all that Marilyn Monroe stuff? The most powerful
person on the planet just had sex with the epitome of sexuality,
the proverbial Eve of the twentieth century. Did he ever feel
complete and whole? Or does he get up and look for something to
do, something to eat, something else; anything, as opposed to
being at home with himself? Since JFK did significant Masses Inspiring
we can assume he must have made progress on his Life Lesson during
his attenuated stay on the planet, but how haunted was he by Mr.
Not Enough? We'll never know.
There is a scene in Thirteen Days, a movie about
the Cuban Missile Crisis starring Kevin Costner that comes to
mind. Kevin is in a limo with Robert Kennedy, the president's
brother and key advisor. Robert is to meet with Gromyko, his Soviet
counterpart and negotiate a settlement that will save the world
from nuclear annihilation. Or he will fail and the world as we
know it will end. RFK tells Costner he feels inadequate to the
task. Costner replies, "There is no one else I would rather
trust with the lives of my wife and children." Buoyed up,
RFK rises to the challenge. Confidant but not too confidant, he
makes real human contact with Gromyko and the crisis is resolved.
RFK's bout with insecurity saved the world.
The fate of all humanity may not hang in the balance
in your life, Marilyn Monroe may not be coming over shortly for
a nightcap, but the Kennedy brothers' story allows a good illustration
of just how one's Nemesis (Life Lesson) can become one's greatest
Ally.
Life Purpose: Inspire the Masses, Successful
Public Impact in the Healing Arts
Life Lesson: Mr. Not Enough
School: Service / Inner Peace
Formula: Who am I to Inspire the Masses? What right do
I have not to?
JFK's fingerprints provide our entry into the
mysterious world of Mr. Not Enough, the voice of insufficiency.
Always looking for that illusive something that will signal the
final victory, feeling somehow short of what life requires - that
is Mr. Not Enough. Not having enough money to do what you want,
not having enough time to get the job done, not having enough
smarts, good looks, lucky breaks - that is the Mr. Not Enough
voice in action.
In the classic Mr. Not Enough chart shown above,
both Jupiter and Saturn fingers have Arches as the low ranking
fingerprints but any combination that includes these two fingers
as the Life Lesson will qualify. We will explore several different
versions of Mr. Not Enough in the pages ahead, but for now let's
look at the basics.
Mr. Not Enough is a dual Life Lesson based upon
the combined elements of Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter Issues center
on Power, Saturn Issues center on Self Worth. The Paradox Principle
states that to access one's Power and Self Worth one must visit
that aspect of self that feels powerless and worthless, an
aspect of self willing to abdicate the responsibility of living
one's Life Purpose. Hmm. Let's examine this more fully.
Being Powerful means:
* Exercising independence of action, not apologizing for
who you are
* Having confidence in your abilities, bringing your talents
out into the world
* Standing up for yourself, setting your own life agenda
Having Self Worth means:
* Knowing you are OK even if your circumstances aren't
* Valuing yourself as a person, saying no to violation,
not being manipulated by guilt
* Adhering to your ethical and moral code, even if it means
risking disapproval
When your Power Department and Self Worth Department
both go haywire at the same time, when you feel trapped and helpless,
insufficient, hopelessly lacking in some essential way - that
is Mr. Not Enough. Mr. Not Enough is the voice inside telling
you that you are bad, NOT OK. You will never measure up. Excellent
performance or fortuitous outcomes cannot deter this section of
your consciousness. Climb Mt. Everest and Mr. Not Enough says,
"Two days?" Work harder, climb Mt. Everest in one day
and Mr. Not Enough responds, "South face?" So you climb
the north face in the winter in half a day. Does this stop the
Mr. Not Enough voice? Hardly. "What about your spouse and
kids? How much time have you spent with them lately?"
Most people can relate in some way with Mr. Not
Enough. Who amongst us is one hundred percent without self doubt?
At its best our hesitancy causes us to look before we leap, to
properly assess our capabilities. Grappling with uncertainty is
part of reaching out to one's fullest potential. But for those
with these fingerprints Mr. Not Enough is a recurring life theme
of major proportions.
So Many Possibilities
Those with Tented Arch versions tend to procrastinate,
Mr. Not Enough joining forces with Mr. Next Year to become a fearsome
double headed dragon. "I will do it when everything is just
right. Then (any time other than now) I will
" Those
with Arches usually take the opposite tack, rushing around with
Mr. Sticks and Plates trying to get everything done perfectly.
"If others think I am good enough, maybe then I finally will
be." Still others hide out in Mr. Mellow or Ms. La Dee Dah.
"If I don't do nothin', I can't do anything wrong."
Others get so demoralized they give up without a battle. "Why
even try, I know I can't do it."
"There are so many Mr. Not Enough possibilities
Richard you'll never be able to tell your readers each one."
My gosh. That's right. Since I can't tell them each one, maybe
I should try to pick a representative sample group. That would
be better. They probably don't have the time or patience to read
each one anyway. Thanks Mr. Not Enough. Good Idea.
Gil's Mr. Not Enough kept whispering, "You're
nothing. You're nothing." You wouldn't want to dance with
me, his demeanor suggested as one girl after another turned him
down at the dance. A classic self perpetuating cycle of failure
filled Gil's life until one day
Eureka! "I am nothing
- no thing. I am more than a thing. I am a spiritual essence,
an ongoing multi-dimensional being here at the Earth University.
Eehaa! People meditate twenty years at the ashram to get into
their no-thingness and here I am, already a master of no-thing.
Well then, now I can do any darn thing I want." This new
relationship with Mr. Not Enough did not transform Gil into a
prince with super models fighting for his attention but it certainly
shifted things in the right direction.
Also having Mr. Not Enough, John was afraid that
if he attempted something big and succeeded people would find
out just what a fraud he really was - so he committed himself
to never succeeding past the point that would get him noticed.
In both of these illustrations the main challenge is in recognizing
that the conditions of life are not causing the Mr. Not Enough
feeling. The feeling preceded the condition. Gil was afraid of
rejection, John was afraid of being found out. Recognizing the
real fear and dealing with it is where the fulfillment possibility
lies. Battling false causes will never get our threesome to their
promised land. Time for a musical interlude.
Vienna Waits for You (Billy Joel)
Slow down you crazy child.
You're so ambitious for a juvenile.
But then, if you're so smart, tell me why are you still so afraid?
Where's the fire, what's the hurry about?
You better cool it off before you burn it out.
You got so much to do and only so many hours in a day.
But you know that when the truth is told, you can get what you
want or you can just get old.
You're gonna kick off before you even get half way through.
When will you realize Vienna waits for you?
Slow down, you're doing fine.
You can't be everything you want to be before your time.
Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight, tonight.
Too bad but it's the life you lead.
You're so ahead of yourself that you forgot what you need.
'Though you can see when you're wrong, you know you can't always
see when you're right.
You got your passions, you got your pride.
But don't you know that only fools are satisfied?
Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true.
When will you realize Vienna waits for you?
Slow down you crazy child.
Take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while.
It's alright. You can afford to lose a day or two.
When will you realize Vienna waits for you?
Six Keys for Dealing Successfully with Mr. Not Enough
- Training the Canary in Your Coal Mine
If Mr. Not Enough is your Life Lesson, it is your life task
to develop an inner alarm system fine tuned to your Life Purpose.
When it is operating properly, you will know your life is getting
off track because your alarm system alerts you with feelings
of discomfort (guilt, shame and overwhelm being the most common).
If the signals are too low, your tendency will be to refuse
to admit any error, even when it is staring you in the face.
If the signals are too loud, your tendency will be to run your
life into hyper-overdrive, avoiding the type of introspection
that could possibly bring your Life Purpose closer to the surface.
Only a high sense of self esteem, one that can admit mistakes
without losing identity, will allow your inner alarm to work
as intended. Adjusting the volume on this system is no doubt
one of your most difficult life challenges.
- Learn to Say, "That's All I Can Do"
There's that seemingly endless cassette loop again: "I
need to do X but I have to finish Y first. OK, I'll start here,
hold it. Oh no. I can't start this part of the project until
that other part is completed and to do that I'll have to call
Fred, who is out of town. Wait a second. The phone is ringing.
Two phones are ringing and someone is at the door. ACCHH. I'll
never catch up, I don't have enough time (enough money, enough
widgets, etc.)" Apparently, Mr. Not Enough is visiting
again. Take a deep breath. Good. Don't forget to exhale. Very
good. You know, sometimes there is only so much one person can
do in a day.
- Beat the Perfectionist Trap
"If I am perfect, do all my homework, am always on time,
etc. then things will be OK." Advanced players recognize
this life path hazard and gracefully move past it. Recognizing
life as a process, ever shifting, never perfect, play and relaxation
become possible, even if a task remains to be completed.
- Own Your Authority
On your life's highway, who is driving your car? Are you easily
sidetracked by others' agendas? Are you settling for second
banana positions beneath your capabilities, hiding out as the
"power behind the throne?" Good questions for those
with Mr. Not Enough.
- Accept Personal Accountability
Criticism does not imply that you are Not OK. It just means
something needs to be looked at. If it needs fixing, fix it.
If not, let it go. Either way, you are already Good Enough as
you are.
- Build Self Esteem
Snore. Snore. Self esteem has gotten bad press recently; it
sounds so clichéd. However, some clichés got that
way because they are right. Here's an affirmation for you Mr.
Not Enough types: "My self esteem is an internal state,
not an outer condition. I have no need to be constantly proving
myself to an imaginary audience." And another: "My
need to make contracts I have no intention of keeping is reduced
as I no longer seek my self esteem exclusively from others."
You came into this lifetime concerned you weren't
powerful enough to do your Life Purpose, that somehow, when the
chips were down, you would blow it. The piece of you that feels
this way needs to be brought into the light so that it cannot
sabotage the efforts of the other 90%.

Martin Luther King
Life Purpose: Mentor / Role Model with a Message for
the World
Life Lesson: Closeness / Emotional Authenticity
Soul Initiation: Service from the Heart
Reading hands is my passion. I have read the hands of babies
just born and hands near one hundred years old. From successful
business people to shamanic healers, from mass murderers to movie
queens, each pair of hands presents a sharply focused window into
the inner workings of another unique human being. But perhaps
the most curious work I have done is Archeological Hand Analysis,
the study of hands left behind by those no longer on the planet.
Petroglyphs of the American Southwest, the Cave of Hands in Argentina,
the hands in concrete in front of Mann's Chinese Theatre in Los
Angeles and old photos in history books, Life Magazine, and personal
collections offer a curious record to those interested, a Biography
Channel all its own.
Note the hands of Martin Luther King, or more specifically, note
the right hand of MLK. In the IIHA system of hand analysis, the
right hand often represents the part of you shown to the world,
the left hand reveals more private information. In this case,
the left hand is in hiding and as we review some of the attributes
revealed in the right hand, there is a certain logic to this fact.
The right hand has an extended rectangular shape with a low set
(near the wrist) exit point for the thumb. The ball of the thumb
(The Mount of Venus) is significantly enlarged forcing the Life
Line to move a full half-inch further towards the outer percussion
than usual. The ring finger is almost as long as the middle finger
and the little finger is partially curled in. There are some other
line markings also visible but this is plenty to work with, especially
since MLK's fingerprints were available from FBI archives.
The extended rectangular hand reveals MLK's philosophic inclinations
but no hand exactly fits any predetermined mold. The long Apollo
suggests a person who needs to be center stage and the enlarged
Venus shows a sensual nature that will not be denied. By themselves,
they indicate a Hollywood Starlet type, but which is the real
MLK? The philosopher or the starlet? The man who made the immortal
I Have a Dream Speech at the reflecting pool needed plenty of
each ingredient to fulfill his destiny.
Martin Luther King's fingerprints reveal the following:

Life Purpose: The Mentor with a Message for the Masses
Life Lesson: Emotional Clarity and Honesty, Closeness,
Vulnerability
School: Love
Formula: Unburden your heart and tell the world what it
needs to hear.
The sexy starlet side of MLK caused innumerable problems in his
marriage, as evidenced by the damaged Mercury (little finger)
and has been the subject of books, newspaper articles and a thick
dossier compiled by J. Edgar Hoover. Each life is a battle of
paradoxical personality components fighting for primacy, hands
merely display such otherwise unknown campaigns.
MLK's Life Purpose asks him to open his heart sufficient to enable
the Mentor with a Message to emerge. It seems he must have done
so -- not without wounds, however. Repeated sexual liaisons, his
marriage in a shambles all while at the center of a cyclone of
exaltation and hatred; the emotional turmoil must have reached
epic proportions. Such is the life of every human, less melodramatic
perhaps, but just as challenging.
We each face demons only we have seen; we each struggle to unlock
the destiny available for this lifetime. What a privilege to be
allowed a closer look at one famous person's struggle to live
the life he came to live.

Malcolm
X
Life Purpose:
Passionate Artist / The Individualist
Life Lesson: Power / Authority
Soul Initiation: It is Safe to Feel and Express
Malcolm X
was one of the most controversial figures of the 20th century.
A black nationalist and charismatic speaker, he was assassinated
by the Nation of Islam in 1965. A short visit to his fingerprints,
palms and biography makes interesting reading.
Malcolm's
dad was also an outspoken figure whose position in the community
got his house burned down and, eventually, got him murdered. We
will never know exactly how this affected the young Malcolm, but
take note his Right Jupiter Life Lesson. When Right Jupiter is
the low ranking fingerprint, expect Issues of Power to predominate,
usually in difficult and challenging ways. Territorial violations
and outright injustice piled upon injustice must have left their
mark. It would be quaint to draw a straight line from such incidents
to Malcolm X's social consciousness, but that is not the way things
tend to go at the Earth University. Malcolm became a criminal
and was sent to jail for burglary.
It was in
prison that Malcolm Little became Malcolm X and joined the Nation
of Islam; his superb oratory responsible for much of the organization's
growth in the early 60's. But when Malcolm found out the leader
of the Nation of Islam, Elijah Muhammad, was violating the very
creed he preached, Malcolm could not be silenced. It was Malcolm's
adherence to principle, his courage to stand up for what he believed
that made him famous and eventually got him killed, just like
his dad. Nonetheless, one can certainly say he faced his Right
JupiterLife Lesson and, like the sheriff in the next story, he
Reclaimed His Power.
Master of
Power and Influence as the Life Lesson
When Jupiter
becomes the Life Lesson, the challenge is to Reclaim Your Power.
Goldilocks says the most common Reclaim Your Power errors are
as follows:
- Getting
stuck in someone else's life movie
- Fearing
that you are insufficient for what life asks of you
- Selling
out on what you really want, playing it safe
- Not standing your ground, running from confrontation
- Using more power than necessary, exercising
power without appropriate restraint
- Picking a fight with your cat when you are
actually angry at your dog
The Sheriff
It is the
Old West. A sheriff is on patrol. Seeing a gun pointing at him
from a dark alley, he pulls his own revolver and shoots the bad
guy dead. Only it turns out there was no bad guy. It was a kid
with a toy gun. The sheriff's mistaken identification had resulted
in tragedy. Feeling terrible, the sheriff decides to hang up his
guns. "No child shall ever die at my hand again," he
declares. Hearing the Dodge City sheriff does not wear a gun,
every bad guy in the Old West moves into town. They rob the bank
three times a day but the sheriff will not resort to violence.
They shoot hats off old ladies' heads just for sport and the sheriff
stoically looks on. But when the bad guys start shooting at the
feet of the blind man yelling "Dance. Dance
" well,
that was too much.
The sheriff
goes upstairs, opens the chest where he had placed his pearl handled
revolvers (the right heroic theme song plays in the background)
and, once again armed, he strides into the saloon to the jeers
and guffaws of the men in black hats. Bang, bang. When the smoke
clears, the bad guys are all gone, Dodge City is safe again and
the blind guy goes on to invent the internet.
It is only
a story but let's look at it more closely. The Dodge City sheriff
was not a coward. He put his guns away in an attempt to be honorable
but it was a mistaken attempt. Only repeated violations of his
territory, actually repeated and escalating violations of his
territory, convinced him to strap his guns back on. Whenever there
is a Reclaim Your Power Life Lesson there is always some power
giveaway perpetrated with honorable intent. Whether the guns represent
a particular talent put on hold because of financial necessity
or some lifestyle choice abandoned due to family arrangement or
something else, all Reclaim Your Power persons are challenged
to recognize the error of their ways and strap their figurative
guns back on.

Richard
Nixon
Life Purpose:
Effective Leader + Inspiration
Life Lesson: Family / Community Guilt
Soul Initiation: Service
Service is the Life Purpose for RMN but Family Guilt is the Life
Lesson. Those old enough or intimately familiar with U.S. history
can review his Checkers Speech and his You Won't Have Richard
Nixon to Kick Around Anymore Speech in a new light. And his known
to everyone Enemies List - here is the President of the United
States of America plotting revenge against all his brothers and
sisters who were willing to cut the turkey without him! Of course
it all boomeranged. RMN's paranoid insecurity culminated in his
resignation - the ultimate Community Guilt.
Indulge my imagination and your own for a moment and consider
an alternative, more exalted RMN possibility. Years after his
successful second term, the celebrated former President is head
of the prestigious World Peace Forum. Now in his seventies, seeking
to finish writing his memoirs and spend more time with the grandkids,
this Mr. Nixon faces a new set of challenges.
Service is thriving and Life Purpose satisfaction is brimming
over, but fingerprint issues never go away. Nixon's daughters,
Trish and Julie, are both interested in taking over the WPF and
as he walks to his study, he knows he must decide today whether
to pass the leadership to a family member (either or both of his
daughters) or would Ms. X be the better choice? A difficult decision,
but this RMN is used to difficult decisions of this type and we
trust he will bring the same Integrity Factor into play that had
been the hallmark of his Presidency. Wouldn't that have been an
exalted U.S. history to look back upon?

Eisenhower, Manson, Einstein
and J. Edgar Hoover
Dwight
D. Eisenhower
Life Purpose: Famous Big Shot, Effective
Leader (doing his own thing)
Life Lesson: Emotional Connection
School: Service
Formula: Your heart is the key to unlocking big success.
Big success is the key to unlocking your True Service.
Charles
Manson
Life Purpose: Famous
Leader (doing his own thing)
Life Lesson: Emotional Connection
School: Love
Formula: Your heart is the key to unlocking the Famous
Leader.
Albert Einstein
Now here is an interesting threesome: Dwight David
Eisenhower, Charles Manson and Albert Einstein. (I got DDE's fingerprints
from Andre Washington, Manson's (and Ted Bundy's) from Crime and
Mental Disease in the Hand by Paul Gabriel Tesla and Albert Einstein
came via. K. Foong from Malaysia.) Imagine being on a deserted
island with these three fellows to keep you company. Never mind.
All three have fingerprint patterns that, although not identical,
have more in common than one might have guessed.
Dwight has a standard Big Shot Life Purpose with
Whorls on both Jupiters favoring the Leadership side of the equation.
Had the fingerprint chart been reversed, Whorls on both Apollo
fingers and a single Whorl on Right Jupiter, the interpretation
would be Influential Artist as the Life Purpose and, no doubt,
someone else would have been in charge of the D Day invasion.
In this case, the Apollo Whorl is more about the type of stage
his Leadership requires. Famous, In the Spotlight, Effective Leadership
is Dwight's fulfillment point if he can pass some of his Emotional
Developmental courses at the Earth University. Apparently he did.
Effective Leaders have learned to delegate responsibilities
to appropriate underlings. Even if Dwight were the best cannon
cleaner in the whole darn army, even if clean cannons save lives,
the free world cannot afford to have the head of all European
operations exposed on the front lines. If you have fingerprints
like Dwight's, you too will have to find the appropriate application
of your true talents.
Manson's fingerprints are not all that different
than Dwight's. Count the Radial Loop on Left Jupiter in with the
Whorls and you get Famous Leadership as the Life Purpose. In this
case, however, the Loops based Life Lesson must have presented
a greater obstacle to development than for DDE. The usual Life
Purpose Inverse for Famous Leaders would be feelings of Powerless-I-Don't-Belong.
Given the circumstances of Charles Manson's life that sounds about
right, although one might surmise Charlie felt pretty good being
the guru to his merry band.
Albert Einstein's fingerprints include Whorls
in all the same places as DDE plus a few extra, the important
addition being the Whorl on Left Saturn, the mark of The Mentor.
Put it all together and you get High Achiever in the Spotlight
+ The Mentor. Albert's Life Lesson is about Speaking Out in the
World (The EF Hutton Challenge). Did you know that Albert had
written FDR encouraging the building of the atom bomb despite
his reservations about using it; that in the 1950's Albert had
marched for and spoken out in favor of civil rights? Apparently,
at some point, Albert found his voice and brought his Life Purpose
forward. Albert's handprints and more on this Life Lesson can
be found on this link:

J. Edgar
Hoover
Life Purpose: Passionate Artist Successful
in the World / The Individualist Life Lesson: Emotional
Authenticity
Soul Initiation: Emotional Connection
We now know that J. Edgar Hoover kept a large
file on Albert Einstein (and numerous other perceived threats
to America) and his fingerprints shown above provide a fascinating
footnote to the topic of Power and Influence. Dossiers were collected
by the FBI, sexual behaviors catalogued and used for intimidation
as part of the Red Menace and Law and Order eras of U.S. politics.
How ironic then that J. Edgar was himself a homosexual living
in the closet. With his Passionate Individualist Life Purpose,
did he get some kind of Hot Potato thrill clamping down on other
passionate individualists while his passions skirted detection?
That is something upon which we can only speculate, but his fingerprints
suggest it could well be the case.

The EF Hutton Challenge
Life Purpose: Big Shot, Service in the
Spotlight, Famous Mentor to Big Shots
Life Lesson: EF Hutton (Nobody Listens to Me)
School: Service
Formula: Believe in the value of what you have to say and
find your True Service.
Exalted Possibility: Get paid for speaking and change the
world.
The EF Hutton Challenge can take a number of different
configurations but in each case the challenge is the same: learning
to value your communications. The title for this Life Lesson comes
from the EF Hutton commercials that have been running on TV for
decades. The scene is a busy upscale restaurant, two upscale persons
are talking. "Well that's what my broker says. What does
your broker say?" The other well dressed patron responds,
"Well, my broker is EF Hutton and EF Hutton says
"
Before the sentence can get a word further the entire restaurant
is suddenly silent, every patron leaning forward with cupped ears
to hear the sage advice of the most respected brokerage firm in
the whole wide world (at least that is the message being conveyed).
A voice over breaks the pregnant silence: "When EF Hutton
talks, everyone listens." In the more recent versions of
the commercial, even the cook in his tall white hat and apron
comes out of the kitchen to hear EF's advice. Wow. Mr. Hutton
must really have something special to say.
With these fingerprints, however, believing in
the value of your communications is the Life Lesson and therefore
an area that warrants extra remedial attention. In its most extreme
form, owners of the EF Life Lesson are routinely ignored, first
by their original family, then by their friends and teachers and
eventually by their spouse and children. The pattern is reinforced
to such a degree it becomes next to impossible for the owner of
these fingerprints to believe in anything that emanates from inside
themselves. In less difficult cases, EF'ers are challenged to
believe in the tangible value of their communications. Between
and around these two examples are a myriad of other possibilities,
including the Exalted Possibility that Albert Einstein was able
to achieve.
Not that Albert became the fuzzy haired endearing
world spokesperson without a couple of battles with his Life Lesson.
As you may or may not know, Albert didn't learn to speak until
the age of three, was not particularly well regarded by his teachers
in High School, and although the Special and General Theories
of Relativity are perhaps the biggest leap forward in science
since Newton, he never did receive the Nobel Prize for either.
By the end of his career, most of his colleagues no longer took
him seriously. Yet he continued to speak out in public for the
causes he held most dear and his enduring legacy owes a sizeable
percentage to his Valued Public Communications - Double Mercury
plus Right Saturn transformed from Nemesis to Ally.
 |
Albert's hand has
several interesting features worthy of note. He is a Mercurian,
that is for sure, his dominant Mercury finger rising almost
a third of an inch above the line that separates the middle
from the upper sections of Apollo. Only a small percentage
of the population have Mercury fingers this long and for these
super curious, super clever folk we have a nickname at the
IIHA: The Code Breaker.
Sherlock Holmes would have belonged to the
Code Breaker Clan, as would all the others who can connect
the dots in ways that look like magic to everyone else.
Add in Einstein's big thumb
|
and you have a very determined man seeking to unlock the toughest
of mysteries. His Head Line splits into right brained and left brained
branches and this too makes sense given Albert's history. But note
the rounded bottom to the palm and the tips of all the fingers.
AE's hands fit the Conic Archetype quite nicely.
Conic persons are aesthetically motivated. They
need all the pictures on the wall straightened, they pick the
lint off your shoulder. At their best, they use this heightened
sense of symmetry and beauty in their fashion career or as a buyer
of Ming Vases for Christie's. Sensitive to the smallest detail
that doesn't fit, anything even slightly off from perfection irritates
the Conic's antennas and raises an alarm.
How does this align with AE's life? It is said
that he had five suits in his closet, all the same color and cloth,
thereby eliminating the need to make a selection each day. That
doesn't sound like a normal member of the Conic Clan. But Albert
was first and foremost a Code Breaker. I can just imagine him
looking over different formula possibilities on his physicist's
blackboard. No need to check these over here. I don't care what
everybody else thinks. No need to check any formula that isn't
elegant and pretty enough to be pleasing to God's eye. Now let's
see, what might God do with E and M and C?
The Conic personality is the most Tomato Fear
sensitive of any of the different types. It is as if everyone
else is staring at them with the same exaggerated magnification
they use as they observe the world. Everybody isn't, but it feels
that way. That makes Albert's Exalted EF Hutton accomplishments
even more praiseworthy. As a Conic sub-type, look what he had
to overcome.

The hand print on

Amelia Earhart. It is difficult to appreciate the utter fascination
and hero worship associated with the aviation pioneers of
the early twentieth century, but send your imagination back

accounts of a lone female adventurer going where no woman
had gone before.
Amelia's strong Via Lascivia (the half moon

pride) and her Right Saturn Life Lesson and we have the ingredients
for a tragic fate of Icarus-ian standards.
At her best, Amelia would courageously step outside
the normal boundaries, escaping societal pressures that would
unfairly restrict her freedom. But her own best friend, her willingness
to bend the rules, could also be her worst enemy. As I saw her
handprints for the first time and read her fingerprints with its
Right Saturn Life Lesson, I realized that Amelia was just the
type of woman to go outside the lines one time too often. Her
ultimate destiny remains a mystery to this day but her hands bear
testimony to a fatal flaw strong enough to bring her down: Amelia
- please - check your gas gauge. It may be too far to the next
gas station and the price for running on empty may be more than
you bargained for.

Ted) the journey must include a trip to Power Gone Wrong.
Guilt, either over-deployed or under-deployed (power without
conscious restraint), is the inevitable training ground for
owners of prints like these. This is my own Life Lesson and,
the challenges afforded by this aspect of my Soul Psychology
have been my life long companions. I find it particularly
compelling to look into the hands of someone who has wrestled
with the same Gremlin and did so poorly.
Note the unformed Star of Apollo - creative
energies fully available for Life Purpose fulfillment but
never used as such.

I wonder what thoughts and images passed through
Ted's twisted psyche. Did he believe that his murders were the
Exaltation of Power without Apology? Did he aspire to ever more
perfect murders as the expression for his Passionate Artist/Individualist
Life Purpose? Is there anything the average person can learn from
his life and death?
LEFT SATURN
LIFE PURPOSE: THE TEACHER, ROLE MODEL, MENTOR
LEFT SATURN LIFE LESSON: ISSUES OF INTEGRITY
Introduction
With Left Saturn or both Saturn fingers as the
high or low ranking fingerprints it is your life assignment to
operate at the highest levels of Integrity in both your professional
and personal worlds, ultimately creating a desire in others to
emulate your behavior. This is one of the toughest challenges
available at the Earth University; an almost unreasonably high
personal growth component required. For this reason, if The Mentor
does come to the fore, it tends to reach its Main Sequence expression
later in life (late forties or early fifties) rather than earlier.
This is as it should be. After all, we can't have just anybody
setting the standard for others to follow.
Despite its long gestation period, for successful
Mentors, a close inspection is likely to reveal that the Mentor
theme has been in operation as far back as your sandbox days.
You probably helped several four year olds learn to share their
toys and not pull hair when upset. If your own existence seems
to be taking too long coming together, patience is the recommendation.
You are probably right on schedule.
For some, The Mentor does its coming of age at
the workplace (i.e. Elementary School Teacher, Yoga Instructor,
Sales Trainer). For others, there is no formal title or position.
The team member that everyone looks to for advice, the caring
parent or grandparent, the wise elder statesman; all could be
examples of The Role Model in action. Regardless of the arena
of operation, the key for Mentors is Integrity and Self Worth,
especially when circumstances make this the hardest thing in the
world to do.
As a Role Model trainee, it is in your interest
to find excellent role models of your own to help prepare you
for the rigors of this life path. You will no doubt discover,
if you haven't done so already, that you find it impossible to
work for or with any person or organization that does not take
a strong ethical stance. In the long run, however, no matter how
much you learn from and admire your teachers, it is your destiny
to break away and develop on your own. Ironically, if you do well,
you will find yourself in the reverse position: watching your
own protégés breaking away from your stewardship.
If, by then, your wisdom allows you to see this process from the
larger perspective, their departure can proceed unimpeded by any
need of yours to maintain control over your flock.
The Chauffer
Fred's plan was to become wealthy, very wealthy.
While other kids were playing with dolls and baseballs, Fred was
making money mowing lawns, cleaning cars and selling lemonade
on the golf course. At ten years old, he wasn't allowed on the
golf course, of course, but Fred was ambitious and charming. He
often made more in tips than in lemonade sales before he eventually
would be escorted off by the powers that be. As he went through
school, he kept to his vision and, as he explained in the Life
Purpose Workshop, he had become wealthier then even he had imagined.
Now fifty-two, Fred was looking for his next challenge.
Most of the students in Fred's Life Purpose Class
were looking for a change of life as well. Take Sally. Sally was
smart, single and on the way up. As she explained, she had left
the small town in which she had grown up - in disgrace - because
of her 'failure' to marry The One her parents had their hearts
set on. Now, gainfully employed but still childless at the advanced
age of twenty-five, she finally felt in control of her life. Sort
of. As the workshop unfolded, it became clear that Sally was slipping
into the same predicament with her current boss as she had with
her parents. Caught between her need for family connection and
her need for freedom, Sally was getting sucked into his expectation
machinery just assuredly as she had been with her parents back
in East Frasalia.
Sally was the youngest in the workshop and Fred
seemed to take her under his wing. "Do what someone else
wants or get out of town." That's how Fred put it to Sally.
"Be careful you don't let that program reinforce itself so
strongly you cannot do anything but." Sally nodded her understanding,
thanking Fred for putting it all into such an easy to remember
phrase.
Despite Fred's ability to be a resource for Sally
and everyone else at the workshop, he couldn't seem to get untracked
on his own goals. As much as he enjoyed the weekend and had been
an asset for all in attendance, we were getting near the close
and Fred was still without a plan for his own future. Then it
hit him like a ton of bricks.
"Something has been stirring around inside
and I couldn't get my finger on it until right now. It had been
staring me in the face all weekend and, I guess, all year since
I sold my company but it only came together this instant. Is it
all right if I tell a little story?"
I wanted to hear Fred's story as much as everyone
else in the room. Fred went on.
"When I was twenty-two I worked as a chauffer
for a wealthy and difficult elderly man. I was young, my wife
was pregnant and this was the only job I could find. My boss was
irritating but he grew on me over time and vice versa and after
a while I became his personal assistant at his brokerage business."
"Sort of Driving Miss Daisy goes to Wall Street," chimed
in Sally. Everyone laughed, including Fred. "You've got the
picture. In two years he taught me everything he knew and that
was how I made my fortune. But here is the part that just came
to me today. As he was dying he asked if I would do him one favor.
He had given me everything he had to give and I told him I would
do whatever he asked. He asked me to do the same for someone else
as he had done for me. I agreed. He made me promise and I did
so gladly but until this morning that promise had been lost in
my memory somewhere. Earlier this weekend, you told me my fingerprints
had The Mentor in them. I thought that sounded nice but it didn't
really click until this moment. Thank you all for listening. Now
I know what I want to do with the rest of my life."

Message from the Heart
Life Purpose: Woman with a Message
Life Lesson: Emotional Connection
School: Love
Formula: Open your heart to your message so you can bring
it to the world.
| Susan B.'s fingerprints,
with their nine Loops and one Whorl are as straight forward
as any set of fingerprints can be. Woman with a Message, A
Message with Heart; that is the Exalted possibility for this
pioneering suffragette. If anyone's life can be summed up
in a short phrase, there it is. Raised a Quaker, she spent
the first fifteen years of her professional life as a teacher.
When she was not allowed to speak at temperance rallies because
of her gender, she became outraged and took off on her own,
traveling the country to lecture on women's rights and the
abolition of slavery. SBA always had her Message from the
Heart but now she had the fire and charisma to reach her larger
audience. |

Leader Wrestling with Guilt
Life Purpose: The Leader, Man of Influence
Life Lesson: Negative Juliet, Guilt Issues

Formula: Find your Emotional Integrity and unlock The Leader
with Heart.
You don't need to be a Chinese face reading expert
or CIA voice analyst to see and hear the deep-seated guilt that
permeated LBJ's Presidency during the
Viet Nam era.

|
But the question
in my mind is which kind of guilt? Was it a life affirming,
Leader with Integrity, stare-into-the-truth-mirror-and-come-clean
guilt? Or was it the other, no-truth-mirror kind, one that
with Right Jupiter as the Life Purpose would Inverse into
Powerlessness and Failed Leadership? I wonder. And I wonder
if he were alive today, could LBJ himself answer my question? |

Lee
Harvey Oswald
Life Purpose:
Influential Author / High Achiever with a Message
Life Lesson: Guilt Issues (Especially associated with Family
/ Community Disapproval)
Soul Initiation: Service
LHO's chart reveals a complex Life Lesson with
a double participation of Saturn plus Left Thumb and Left Apollo.
When multiples occur, the standard procedure is to emphasize whichever
finger is doubled up, in this case Saturn. If you do so for LHO
you place extra weight on his sense of Not Being OK, Issues of
Guilt, Appropriate Behaviors, etc. And you would be correct, up
to a point. However, whenever Left Apollo appears as part of a
complex Life Lesson, experience has taught me that in most cases
it will work best to emphasize its role in the person's life movie.
If you do that with LHO, placing 1/3 of the emphasis on Not OK
in the Family or Community (Double Saturn plus Left Thumb) and
the other 2/3 weight on feelings of I Don't Belong (Left Apollo),
I believe you get a good approximation of what must have been
the dominant theme of the inner dialogue of JFK's assassin.
Attempts to live in Russia during the height of
the Cold War, handing out Marxist pamphlets on the street corners
of New Orleans, stalking episodes and failed associations with
the CIA (regardless of the truth or untruth of conspiracy theories)
all point to a man who could never find his place on this planet,
anywhere. Conversely, check out LHO's Life Purpose: Big Shot with
a Message. Was this how LHO saw his role in history? Or would
his Life Purpose Inverse, Muted Small Shot, be closer to the truth?
Jack Ruby rendered these questions largely unanswerable, but Lee
Harvey Oswald's fingerprints offer tantalizing testimony to the
inner workings of this mostly shadow figure who had such an effect
on world history.
